Surrounding Tajin there are several schools for Papantla flyers attended by Dana, Said, Jairo and Sarahí, four children that show us the magic of this totonaca dance. While they are prepared to become flyers, they will take us on a journey through the legends that tell us how new generations can fly and save the region from drought. In order to fly, they must confront their fears, be disciplined and keep dreaming.

"In 2006, I found that there were several schools of flyers in Veracruz, where children are taught how to fly. I loved that story, so the desire to make a film that would capture all the magic behind these schools immediately arose in me.”

Ligia Cortés Aguila

Director, screenwriter and producer

“Ale help us to search the tools and founding routes to make this story a reality”.

Alejandra Cacho

Producer

"Trazos del Cielo was a project of which I am very proud to be part of the team where we faced creative and production challenges due to the fact that it is a hybrid and independent film. We had the participation of great artists and animators to create an animated world with characters full of magic and color that reflect the richness of the Totonac culture”.

Daniela Cortés Aguila

Coproducer, animation development and composition

"It seems to me that animation helps to reconcile, transform, and generate a shortest way to understanding and raise awareness about ancestral practices in distant communities with memorable characters. It makes real what seems impossible to our eyes”.

Jennifer Skarbnik

Animation Line Producer

"For me, Trazos del Cielo was a project that taught me the importance of the roots and family foundation of every human being, and that patience is a tool that is quite required to carry out a project with heart, soul, and courage”.

Ana Acosta

Cinematographer

"Chantal contributed her photographic perspective and her willingness to tackle any production needs we had in the project. She says that when they flew, we also fly”.

Chantal Carrillo

Aditional Footage (Second Camera)

"The Trazos del Cielo project represented a significant artistic challenge. The director's vision proposed something outside of the conventional, artistically speaking. For the team, Trazos del Cielo was a great opportunity to test our artistic abilities. We fell in love with the characters, the story, and it fills us with pride to be part of this great production. Personally, it was a significant step in my career, as it made other productions start to take us seriously as a studio and gave us the opportunity to showcase our abilities. It feels great to be given a serious place in the industry as a woman”.

Adriana Cid

CEO Mokiki Animation, Estudio Coproductor

"Not only was a project that taught me a lot with the message it shares, but it was also an incredible collaboration of passionate people. Being a technically ambitious documentary, it was an experience to face daily challenges, but we could not have done it without such a driven and talented team with whom I was fortunate to work”.
